At halftime of the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State game, ABC showed video of Doug Flutie at the unveiling of a statue honoring him at Boston College. Is it a sign of a faultering economy that the only guy that is getting a life-sized statue is one of the smallest quarterbacks (and Heisman winners) in modern college football history?
Flutie is generously listed at 5′10″; the statue appears to be slightly larger than Flutie - perhaps they would have saved money by making it more accurately life-sized.
